When can i spent the 62,500

Post by mexxyman » Sun Sep 18, 2016 4:43 pm

Hi everyone, can't seem to find a definitive answer on this.

We are applying for a settlement spouse visa using the 62,500 savings requirement.

When my wife is hopefully accepted I would like to use some of this savings as a deposit for a house. Is this ok to do so? or does the 62,500 have to stay in the bank???

I also now have a job of 27,000 a year so will be able to show this at the 2.5 year mark.

Thanks for any help with this!

Suggest wait till wife actually has her visa and has entered the UK. HO may very well contact your bank to verify the huge savings.

Have you held the savings for a minimum of 6 months?

In law the money should be their on the date of application. Although at the point of decision, the ECO may check to ensure conditions are genuinely met.
