Tight timelines - speeding up Brit-Passport (NCAP)

Post by t1s2010 » Mon Sep 19, 2016 1:00 pm

Long story short, I need British passport asap as need to apply for OCI (foreign passport is must for OCI).

I applied NCAP method for child's MN1 registration.
I got registration certificate issued on 14-09-2016 by post on 17-09-2016.

But no news/sms/email update on British passport status as of 19-09.
How can I speed British passport up by call/email/tracking number or at least an update on where is it stuck?

Hi,

You seem to be in rush to get British Passport so you can apply for OCI.

2 days here and there wont make much difference on BP as OCI will take 2-3 months unless you want OCI to travel in 3 months and 2 days.

What I want to say here is BP will be on its way and there is nothing that you can do to speed it up as the process is reasonably fast already.

Thanks for reply.

There are two three things going in parallel (travel plan is just one of those things ;) ).
I had my kid's name change and thus want to follow on British passport instead of waiting.
In short, consider 'its complicated'.

Any member please who know how to contact for British passport  (Note: I see people get SMS about update which I didn't get. Plus, kids name change, I don't want passport application to be sitting on someone's desk).

I have got her indian passport surrender today (applied) today too.

I am just trying to reach beit passport team so tht i can submit all these things (not getting SMS for NCAP is bit weird)

If you applied through the joint citizen and passport scheme, the passport should be with you soon.

What name is on the registration certificate, old name or new name?

Thank you for reply.. hope so.
It seems SMS is not 'sure shot' way of progress. By reading other people here, it seemed SMS comes instantly around registration certificate time.

Registration certificate got New name on it so its clean enough.

For benefit of forum for "name change VS passport surrender".

Kid's passport arrived (without any text message though). No proof of Indian passport surrender asked.
