If only half way along ILR journey it is going to be a longshot.segonn71 wrote:Am settled by naturalization since 2007. My two children were born in Nigeria march 1999 and November 2001, before my naturalization. They came to the UK in April 2013 on a tier 4 visa as a dependent of their mother. I got married and got the Flr family visa on the 5-year route in April 2014. they are due for a renewal of the Flr in October.
Can I apply to register the kid as a citizen using Form MNI under section 3 (1) applying for the home secretary discretion, and what are my chances and what documents are needed to support my application because my daughter will be 18 in march 2007, will be going to the university. She cannot get a student loan f she is not settled in Uk.
I was told I have to write a narrative with my application and get letters of good character and conduct from their respective schools. Advise needed to save me from a futile application if my chances are slim.
Thanks
Its really too early, all need to serve full course of FLR and get ILR first.segonn71 wrote:the mother is here in the UK, we live together as a family . She is on the Flr and about to apply for the second stage of her 5-year route.
- The child’s connections with the UK – we would expect the child to be free of any restrictions on his or her stay in the UK
Where the child’s future is likely to lie
The parents’ views
The parents’ nationality and immigration status – we expect either both parents to be British citizens or one parent a British citizen and the other parent settled in the UK.
Whether the child is of good character
The length of time the child has lived in the UK – we expect at least 2 years residence (particularly if the child is over the age of 13)
Any compelling circumstances.
