Can dependents travel at a later date?

Post by raviocean » Fri Sep 30, 2016 5:06 am

I will be applying for Tier 2 Visa. I want to bring my wife and daughter too. I will be traveling in mid-November. I want to first go to UK, get settled, find a decent place to live and then want to bring my wife and daughter.

My question is shall I apply for my wife and daughter visa later (while I am in UK) or shall I apply together?

In case I apply together I think all three of us would need to travel within 30 days. Someone said in the forum that the intended date of travel can be mentioned in dependent Visa but it may be not straight forward.

Just wanted to confirm from other in case I want to bring my wife and daughter later then applying their Visa later is right choice or not? In that case I will have to submit 3-month payslip, 3-month bank statement and that would mean my wife and daughter can come at least after 3 months.

They can apply separately after you. It makes no difference really. UKVI does not always post date a visa if you request it.

Thanks for the reply. Now I want to know when Dependents apply then the main applicant should have been in UK for at least 3 months? I read in the post that others have provided 3 months bank statement, 3 months pay slips and letter from landlord that the house is big enough for family.

People have recommended me to come alone first, settle down and then bring family but I want to bring my family after 1-2 months only. Can I do that or need to wait for minimum 3 months.

Rephrasing my question above.

I will be applying for my Tier 2 General Visa. I am still confused whether I take my wife and daughter along with me or bring them after a month or two. Most likely I will bring them after some time after I settle down in UK.

1. My question is can Dependent visa be applied within 1 month of main applicant getting visa? I read some forum topics where people mentioned about payslips of 3 months. I was under the impression that dependents can come only after 3 months.

2. Can my dependent show her Indian bank statements of the past 90 days or does it have to be the bank statement of Main applicant's UK Bank?

3. What all documents are required for dependents visa? People have mentioned sponsor letter from main applicant, tenant agreement. Where is the checklist for dependent visa documents?

Can someone answer my question. I am currently waiting for my Visa.

Is it possible to apply for dependents visa while the main applicant is still in India. I am thinking of applying visa for my wife and daughter as soon as I get mine and they can join me after 2-3 weeks in UK when they get their visas.
