Tier 2 Dep Visa cancellation

Post by Divit » Sat Oct 01, 2016 11:26 am

Dear members,
I'm a software engineer working in the UK under Tier 2. I married and brought my wife as dependent from Gujarat 3 years ago. Terms are not well and it is getting worse. Our visas are expiring very soon and I don't think it can turn around for good. I feel her intentions of our relationship have changed after she started to work in the UK. I do not wish to renew her visa as I do not intend to live with her as I feel exploited. I humbly request you to explain me the procedures?

If the relationship has broken down and there is no chance of 'fixing' things, you have an obligation to inform HO. See links below for the form etc.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... nsent-form

If you apply for an extension, you do not have to include your wife if the relationship is no longer subsisting. Suggest keep a copy of the form and submit with your extension in case HO ask about your dependent not applying with you.

Thank you for responding quickly with the link. I'm confused with the 2 forms in the link. Could you guide which one I should be choosing pls? Should I explain elaborately in the attachment letter about our relationship breakdown and her change of motive?

You can complete both forms. You do not have to give extensive details etc. but if you wish, you could state what you believe to be the case.
