Visa entry prior to July 2012

Post by bilalkhan » Sat Oct 08, 2016 10:29 pm

Hi ,
I was issued visa entry clearance from outside UK(Tier 2 general) (Nov 2011) , along with my wife(Tier 2 dependent).
I entered the UK in Jan, 2012 and my wife entered the UK after almost a year in Sep 2012 and we have been continously living together since .
According to my understanding , we can both apply for Indefinite leave together in November 2016 as 5 years are counted from Visa issue date and not the UK entry date.
Also as my wife's entry clearance was prior to July 12, so she have to spent 2 years continuous residence not 5 years.
Am I moving in the right direction. Greatly appreciate your opinion.
Thanks
Bilal

YOUR clock starts from entry clearance date.

Your WIFE'S is from date of entry.

BUT, as she was granted a visa before 9th July 2012, she only requires 2 years residence.

You can BOTH apply for ILR.

ILR Application for wife separately

Post by bilalkhan » Thu Dec 01, 2016 10:33 pm

Hi Guys,
I got my ILR 2 months ago based on 5 years continuous period on tier 2 general.
My wife was also due for ILR(2 YEAR continous period on tier 2 dependent) at the time of my application but due to some reasons couldn't apply with me.
Now I am preparing to apply for her ILR and I presume I still need to fill SET(O) form but with her as main applicant and include supporting documents including proof of cohabitation, proof of english and life in uk test. Also include my ILR copy.
Thanks
