English language req for Tier 1 general

Post by tbnag » Tue Oct 11, 2016 8:09 am

Hi Experts,

I have query regarding english language requirement, which I have proved during my initial Tier 1 general visa.
I have done M.Sc in english medium and my university is mentioned in UK naric db.
I am going to apply for ILR by end of this year. I see that the SET 0, section 4.5, which confuses me. I am not sure which option to tick.

-In section 4.5, its asking me to tick IELTS or Trinity college. I have not given any test. Could you suggest me.

What did you tick for 4.3??

You need the ELA from NARIC for a foreign degree.

If you have that, then you don't need the English Test.

Thanks a lot for the information.

I have ticed below 2 points in section 4.3.

An academic qualification deemed by UK NARIC to meet the recognised standard of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or PhD in the United Kingdom -->YES
˗˗UK NARIC has confirmed that the qualification was taught or researched in English -->YES

I have my old points based calcultor print out which confirms has my degree and universtity details. Can i use this??

IF not, do i have to get certificate from uk naric?
If i have to get naric certificate, then what is the certificate called?

Thanks!!

I have applied for English language Assessment from Naric and the application is under process.

Today i was randomly looking at the gov.uk page, and gone through the below link and it is taking me to visa and immigration certification but not ELA certificate page.

https://www.gov.uk/english-language/overview
after opening above link click==>a degree taught or researched in English==>click 'UK NARIC'.

Please suggest.

Thanks!!
