Dependant visa extension query

I got ILR in June of this year through Tier 2 General route. My wife came to UK in Aug 2012 as my Tier 2 dependant. Her dependant visa will expire in May 2017 which is 2 months or so before she completes 5 years as a Tier 2 Dependant.

I suppose she will have to extend the Dependant visa. My question is how long should the extension be? Which of these extensions are possible:
a) Just for 6 months
b) For a standard 3 years
c) For a maximum of when she completes 6 years as a Tier 2 Dependant (till Aug 2018)

She applied on 3rd Aug 2012 I think. I suppose the rules changed in July, do you know the date?

Also, can she not apply for lesser duration? The reason I am asking is it will mean that we will have to pay the IHS fees for 3 years whereas she will become eligible for ILR in 3 months.

I am going to be applying for extension of my wife's PBS Dependant visa soon.

I wanted to check if these are the only supporting docs required:
1) 3 months bank statement showing maintenance of £630
2) Letter from my employer confirming my employment and salary
3) My ILR BRP
5) My wife's passport and BRP

I have been trying to fill the IHS form and it is asking for my visa expiry date as a mandatory field, and if I enter my ILR end date it calcuates the IHS fees for my wife as £1600 which is till the end of my ILR period.

I have seen some threads asking to not fill my details in IHS form, but the fields seem mandatory and it is not allowing me to proceed without that data. I am confused

all PBS dependent visas, post main applicant ilr , are given for 3 years.

Hi CR001. The trouble is the fields of visa details of mine are mandatory and the IHS form is not letting me leave them blank.

Other people seem to get it right. We don't have access to the online form to see what you are seeing. She is applying alone, not to 'remain or join' you.
