Can I travel with own passport while waiting for UK passport

I need your urgent advise to confirm whether I can travel outside UK with own passport (Biometric Card already sent back to Home Office when I got my citizenship certificate) while waiting to receive UK passport?

Surely you have to send your foreign passport with your BC Passport application?

No, my local council hasn't got such service. Only neutralisation service so after I got my citizenship certificate, I sent back my biometric card to Home office and went to apply British Passport. At this moment, I am waiting to receive British Passport so I wonder if I can travel outside UK and enter UK again with my own passport as I haven't got Biometrica card with me.
