Financial Requirements FLR (M)

Post by LR2015 » Tue Oct 25, 2016 5:24 am

Hi all,

I need some information for my friend who is going to apply for his wife's FLR (M)

1. Husband and son are British citizens... wife is on tier 1 general at the moment and needs to switch to FLR (M)
2. She started her part time job in January 2016 with basic annual salary of £14600.
3. Her 1st payslip shows 900 salary as she started in a few days later of paying period.
4. She is an Engineer and gets paid good commission ( £800 to £5000 a month so far)
5. Her earnings in 9 salary slips are over £30000 with commission since January

My question is:
1. Does she need to send only 6 month payslips or 9 months payslips?
2. Does she need to calculate last months commission then divide by 6 and multiply by 12 to get estimated annual commission and then add that to 14600 to calculate salary?

Please can you advise if the below calculations formula is ok to use?
The income from commission based pay that can be added to the salaried employment
= (total commission earned over the last 6 months, divided by 6) multiplied by 12
= ((800+1200+4000+1500+3000+5000) ÷ 6) x 12
= (15500÷ 6) x 12
12 months commission = £31000
Annual salary £14600+ commission £31000 = £45000

Why doesn't wife apply for ILR based on Tier 1 G? Switching to FLR(M) will reset the clock.

Does British husband work? If yes, what does he earn?

Hi CR001,
sorry I didn't get the option to edit the post. She is on Tier 1 Genersl spouse visa. Husband got ILR on long residency and then citizenship last month.
She will have to switch to FLR (M) and it will reset the clock to zero. Husband is not working due to illness and not claimin any kind of benefits.
She has to show her own salary.
please can you let me know if the 1st post calculations are OK to use for financial requirements?

She needs to read the financial requirements carefully.

Hi Petaltop,

Thanks for the link above.

It looks like that she meets the financial requirements. Her gross income with commission according to payslips have exceeded £18600 in 6 months ( Basic pay in 6 months £7300 + commission 6 months £15500)

They are going to send her 6 months payslips showing gross income including commission more than £18600.

Please advise if any of you think differently. Thank you all for your help.
