FLR (M) Online Application Financial Requirement error,

Post by Cudda » Thu Oct 27, 2016 9:23 am

I am trying to get information for a friend of my mine she didn’t understand all the requirements to meet the threshold,

She made online application for her partner on Monday and made the payment online and the application was submitted via online once payment was made. Once the payment is made it cannot be amended as it has been submitted electorally and only requires document to be posted with a checklist to the Sheffield PO Box.

I have gone through her application and can see she wont be able to meet the Financial Requirement under category B as she only had her employment for 4 months, she can only satisfy part 1 of category B however wont be able to satisfy part 2 of category B which leads me to the question can she now write to the Home office and ask that they only use Category D alone to meet the threshold providing all the evidence.

If the Caseworker reject to change the Category on the application can she in any way get the application fee refunded.

She is in a panic so would really appreciate if someone can help. Reading the guidance it seems the home office won’t use discretion if you made mistakes on your application,

Thank you in advance,

I assume she can print off a copy of the application? If so, there should be a section for 'any other information'. She can hand-write an amendment here.

It may also be prudent to include a letter as 'belt & braces'

I must be old fashioned but definitely prefer the paper forms, at least you can read it and fix errors BEFORE posting.

Hi Casa,

Thank you for the prompt response, I have checked and we have gone over it several times but there are no ways to add anything to the application. She can download the application as is but can’t add anything or subtract anything as it has been submitted.

I have been up all night trying to help them because they are losing the plot.

I wonder if I complete another application online but don’t make payment to that one and print it out would they accept it as amendment.

No, this won't work as the application has already been submitted. Amend the printed one you have by HAND.

I would include a letter of explanation with the check list & documents before they're posted. Edit the printed-version.

I agree with CR001....this must be a common problem with an online application. No assessment will take place before the documents are received.

Thanks for the advice, I have amended the application & also amended the checklist & written long cover letter for her to send to them, she sent most of the documents off on Tuesday by recorded mail so I asked her to send this via special delivery in the hope Both envelope gets opened by the same person. The checklist states that all documents should be sent within 15 days so I'm hoping this error can be corrected due to immediate response. Am right in thinking they will only start working on the application once documents have been received by them? Also now that she has sent a amended application etc will they consider that it was error & use the category she wants use now to meet the financial req?

I will update as soon as I find out so another poor sole don't go through all this crap! If you're doing online application make sure you triple check before making any payments otherwise a world of trouble awaits you.
