Spouse Visa

Post by absi1908 » Mon Nov 14, 2016 4:56 pm

Hi All,

I am in the process of applying for visa for my wife and I am confused in regards accommodation requirement. Currently I am living in a studio flat which its current contract expires in March 2017, I was planning to rent a 1-bedroom flat in February between 2-3 weeks prior to my wife applying for visa. However; one of the requirements is to provide utility bills including council tax, water and electricity bills. It will be impossible to receive any bills within 2 to 3 weeks from moving.

My options are:

1. Extend my current contract so I have enough utility bills. But will home office except a studio?

2. Stick to orginal plan- renting a flat 2-3 weeks prior to applying! will it be an issue if I do not provide the bills?

3. The worst option rent a flat and pay double rent just fufille the requirment. Costly :?

Thank you for your advice in hand.

2. Stick to orginal plan- renting a flat 2-3 weeks prior to applying! will it be an issue if I do not provide the bills? of course you can get letters. HO/UKVI will obviously see you are a new tenant in a new property.

3. The worst option rent a flat and pay double rent just fufille the requirment. Costly :?

Thank you for the reply.

My friend Solicitor’s told him two months on Bills will be considered by homeoffice as a weak proof!

Suggest your friend finds a solicitor with a better understanding of the Immigration Rules.
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
