Clarification on getting BRP: Tier 2 Dependent visa

Post by Muri » Mon Nov 14, 2016 10:04 pm

Hi All,
Could anyone let me know about receiving BRP. My situation is explained below

I'm going to get married in Feb 2017 in India, but my wife will travel end of April say 28th 2017, my clarification is whether to apply for tier 2 visa straight away after marriage or should we need to wait till end of march? As I have read that most dependent visa get approved within 2 weeks. What is confusing me is below

You’ll get your vignette sticker when your visa application is approved. You have permission to come to the UK within 30 days getting it.

The 30 day period is after getting your visa or the intended travel date mentioned in the application?

Will the application ask for travel date and will the UKBA look at the travel date and provide the decision based on the travel date, that is the 30 days.

If you need any more information let me know, I want this to be clarified to apply at the right time. Thanks.

Yes, the form does ask for intended travel date but UKVI frequently ignore this and issue the vignette from date of decision.

Suggest apply closer to when she intends to travel.
