28 days grace period

Post by rahgup » Tue Nov 22, 2016 2:05 pm

Hello All,

I am presently on a General Tier 2 visas and have the following queries with below dates for your perudal-

1) Time starts in UK on first General Tier 2 visa- 21/1/12
2) 5 year time completes on 21/1/17
3) Allowed to apply for ILR (28 days before 21/01/17)- 15/12/16
4) Visa expires- 10/12/16

I don’t think I can apply prior 10/12/16 as I am not completing 5 years. The only option if allowed is to apply on an an extended 28 days grace period if granted by the UKBA. The G2 visa would then expire on 07/01/17 after 28 days allowed period has been consumed. Am I allowed a 28 days grace period which expires on 07/01/17?

Thanks.
R

the '28 day grace period' is being reduced to 14 days w.e.f. 24th November.

This 'grace period' is not supposed to be used because you are short of a few days to qualify for ILR. You have to have valid leave for ILR.
