Tier 2 BRP - Renewal Passport and Naming order change

Post by ouch » Wed Nov 23, 2016 12:33 pm

Hello,

I've just renewed by passport, and was about to send off the passport number change communication to my sponsor. However, I don have one little bother - my middle name, which was initially part of my surname on my old passport, is now at the end of my first name.

Old passport:
Given name: XXXX
Surname: YYYY ZZZZ

Renewed passport:
Given name: XXXX YYYY
Surname: ZZZZ

On my BRP, it is as is on my old passport (Given Name: XXXXX, Surname: YYYY ZZZZ). Would this change affect travel, and will I have to apply for a new BRP?

Just FYI, all three of my names are extremely long (each about 10-20 characters), which was why in the first passport they couldn't fit the middle name into the given name, and now they could.

Thanks in advance!

You have to inform HO that your name has changed.
