Hi,

I read on gov.uk that UK authorities have started checking visa status while going out of country as well.
I have same situation as OP and its cheaper to apply for UK Visa once the baby travels to India(£936 there) v/s £1771 in UK.

Can someone tell me whether travelling out w/o visa and then applying PBS-dependent visa in India is allowed?

The old fee for a dependent visa outside of the UK was £956. It is now £1,195 (possibly higher with the currency exchange rate).

Hi all,

I am on T1-Gen visa. My child was born in UK this year and I have not applied for his visa while in UK.
I will travel with child to India for holiday and then apply for child's visa from India.

The visa form at https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ asks about 'Medical Treatment while in UK'.
Its not clear whether 'Medical Treatment' means hospital treatment, or prescriptions , or GP visits?
Is it wise to mention that he's had one prescription for a skin problem ? Or is it wiser to just keep it blank and mention in 'Additional Info' that 'child was born in UK and has been seen by GPs/health visitors etc' ?

I've asked same question to UKVI-International FAQ service by email, but would appreciate inputs from folk here. I'll post the reply if I get it soon !

Medical treatment means ANY medical treatment. You need to state what he has had. In additional information, you can state child is UK born.

-When I apply for the child's visa from India, will his biometric imprints be recorded ?
-Will a BRP be given in India itself, or will he get a temporary visa stamp on his passport and have to collect BRP in UK later?
