FLR (M) Meeting Fincials using only Savings

Post by malgreen » Mon Dec 05, 2016 4:37 pm

Hi there, my Singaporean Wife is soon to apply for Further Leave to remain. I am self Employed (I am a Director of my own limited Company). It seems very lengthy and complicated to provide all the relevant documents to show I can meet the financial using my low salary and dividends (circa £8 saly + £35k dividends). However, I have Share ISA savings of £130K (which I have held for over a year).

Am I correct that I have sufficient savings to meet the financial requirement and can apply using my savinghs route instead of self employment route? If so which sections do I need to complete on form FLR (M) 11/2016

Any help/advice appreciated.

Thanks

You only need £62,500 to prove the financial requirement using savings.

Thanks for your reply, sounds like I should be ok then.

Can any one help me with which section/category to fill in on form FLR (M) where I list my savings?

Thanks

If you are using the paper version for FLR(M) dated 11/16 you fill in 7.2 and then go down to 7.3E. Apart from filling in those boxes, we each wrote a declaration on the source of the funds. If you are using the new online version, sorry, I cannot advise.

Just make sure your funds are immediately accessible.

Many thanks for your reply Machali.

All sounds good and straight forward (I hope!). As mentioned our savings are in the form of Share ISA's and can be released in around 3 working days if required. I assume this will be accepted as immediately available?! It mentions UK stocks and shares ISA meets the definition of a savings account and the funds can be considered as cash savings. I also have statements going back 2 years. Assuming we are ok with the financial sides using savings route, I hope no issues with the rest our application.
