Tier 2 ICT & Tier 2 ICT Dependent- Options to continue in UK

Post by plannet_happy » Wed Dec 07, 2016 12:04 pm

Hi All,

This is quite informative forum and thanks all who are contributing.

I have one query with my situation. I hold Tier 2 ICT Short Term 1 years visa and currently working in UK which was issued in May 2016 and will expire in May 2017. My spouse holds Tier 2 ICT Dependent visa and she is currently living with me in UK. She holds B.E degree from India and has no previous work experience as she has just pass out in Aug 2016. Below are my querier with respect to my situation

1. Is there any way I can continue to work in UK(My employer may not extend my visa, so expecting other options from you all) by switching to other visa?
2. Is there any way my spouse can apply for any student visa and I can switch to dependant visa & work here?
3. Any other option?

Thanks.

1. No. You will be subject to the 12 month cooling off period if you wanted to change to Tier 2 General.

2. Possible for wife and yes for you, also depends on what course she does and type of institution.

3. No, not is you want to work. Tier 1 Ent possible if you have substantial funds.

Thanks a lot Cr001 for your response.

If you could throw more light on below

2. What type of visa she would need to apply? Where? and do you have any institution & course recommendations for such type for longer duration visa and reasonable fees?

3. It look like £200000 fund required for Tier 1 Ent visa. Is it worth applying inside or It should be applied from outside UK considering my existing ICT visa.

To study is a Tier 4 student visa. What she wants to study and where she wants to study is not something we can advise on the forum and any recommendations will be deleted. It is a personal choice, not one a forum can help with. She would be subject to the international fees for whichever institution she chooses and who would be prepared to issue a CAS for her.

You have to apply outside the UK. You would not be permitted to continue working for your employer or any other employer. You also cannot work for an umbrella company. Your have to be in a business or set up a business etc. Lots of paperwork involved with this one.

2) Applicant needs to be a genuine and capable, motivated and enthusiastic student.
There are no 'reasonable' fees for international students! And T4 is not just a place filler to keep someone 'busy'.

3) High refusal rate.
