AN questions

Post by VinGam » Tue Dec 06, 2016 11:42 pm

Hi all,

I am going to apply for my British Citizenship next week.
This is my resume:
European
Sole application
Passport Application
PR status 01/02/2015
DCPR 04/05/2016
LIUK Passed
GESE B1 Passed.

I am applied through NCS.

Please, may you give me some advice about filling the form and presenting the documents?
Filling the form:
1.3 Enter the date you were given indefinite leave to enter/remain in the UK
Is this the date of the DCPR or of the PR status?

A bit silly question but just to be sure...
1.5 Surname/Family name
Will this be the last name?
1.6 Other names
Will this be the first name?

1.24 Your Father's name:
Will this be just the first name? I have same surname as my father.

1.49 Address of tax office or tax reference:
Will this be all my PAYE reference or just the current one? I had 3 different PAYE since I came in UK.

1.50 Employment history in UK during past 10 years:
Should I include the current one?

Documents to include:
SECTION 1 and SECTION 2 Identity, Life in the UK, GESE B1
- Passport
- Life in the UK
- GESE B1 certificate

SECTION 3 Evidence of lawful residence during the 5 years before date of application
- Letters from employers

SECTION 4 Evidence of Settlement for applicants from EEA
- DCPR

Others:
- My passport size picture for 5. Referees and Identity.
- Cover letter? Any example?

PASSPORT APPLICATION:
Do I need to bring all documents needed for my passport application?
I guess I should bring a couple of passport photo size.
Can the referees be the same of my AN application?

PAYMENT:
How can I pay at the NCS? Debit card? Credit card? Cheque?

Also:
I have to travel for 20 days after I submit my application, is it going to be an issue?

Thanks in advance.

POSSIBLY as the biometrics letter will that period - suggest re-arrange application. You have 15 working days from date of letter, so with christmas post delays you may have less time. If they don't receive after first letter another reminder will be sent, with only 10 days allowed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi alterhase58,

thank you very much for you answers.
I have only few clarifications:
alterhase58 wrote:PAYMENT:

Where can I download it?
alterhase58 wrote:1.24 Your Father's name:

do you mean Full name? (First, any middle and last name)?

It means 25 days in total. I will go for holiday two days after application submission and I will be back after 26 days from the day of the submission.
Once they received the application, after how long they will send the biometric letter?

Yes, I have seen it received between 7 to 14 days. But the letter is issued right after the application has been received or they will take few days?
If it's too risky, I will wait but I will loose one month of time.
Is there a way to slightly delay it? Paying by cheque maybe.

If it helps, I received the letter asking for biometrics 2 days after I received the acknowledgement email and 4 days after the money was taken off the account:

17 Oct received by HO
22 Oct money taken
24 Oct email
26 Oct biometrics letter

A cheque takes 5 days to clear so this **MAY** be an option but I personally would not want to take the risk.

Solved.
NCS can held my application for a week before it will be posted to the Home Office so it will be sent after Christmas and there should no be any problem then.

Thanks to everyone.

Be aware, date of NCS appointment is now considered date of submission of application.

For what reason exactly are they 'holding' it? You have posted your question/post in a 'general application help discussion' topic where many members post so it is not clear.

I have to fly urgently for 25 days right after I submit my application. So I asked if it's possible to hold it for a week. Apparently they can do that.

Where has this 'holding it' idea come from.
Who has suggested NCS can 'hold it'?

The application is submitted on day of interview, you will have no control on internal movements and machinations after that.
Nor what colour file box the bundle is stored in nor how and when it may be moved around various processing offices in the country.

I called the NCS today and they said they can hold it. If they hold it till my return I have to update the absence sheet.

But for what reason do you wish them to 'hold it'? A person is free to travel after submitting their application so your request doesn't make any sense at all.

Bollocks. You have already 'applied' and the date you submitted at NCS is the date of application. Any absence AFTER this date is irrelevant.

You are assuming of course that you will get a letter while away, which you might not with the holidays, delays in postal service etc. You get a second letter anyway if you do not attend the first enrollment within 15 days.

Yes, I though about Christmas and the second letter. But I will apply on the 16th of Dec, I will fly on the 18th of Dec and back on the 10th of Jan.
I will be back 26 days after my application submission. The windows is 15 days + 10 days so 25.
People receive it between 7 and 14 days. I may be on time.
Telling me they can hold it maybe they meant that the submission date will be the same but they can delay the dispatch. I am not too sure, tomorrow I will call again and I will ask them to explain it better to me.

Why not just apply when you are back in the UK in January :?:

I will apply with 80 days out of the Country in the last 12months. then I have to wait at least the end of January to apply again as I will go up to 110 days out of the country in the last 12 months. So my application will be delayed of 45 days.

Regarding the Evidence of lawful residence.
Should I submit evidence of the last five years or evidence since my PR status (Feb 2015) or DCPR date (May 2016)?

I have a poor handwriting so I asked my wife to fill the application for me.
Of course I will sign it so different handwriting may be detected in the application.
Is it going to be a problem?
Thanks in advance
