Tier 2 dependent child

Post by Mak111 » Thu Dec 08, 2016 8:05 pm

Dear all;
I wish for your help in something please.
I am applying for tier 2 for me and my wife and children. And my children don't have a passport of thier own; and tgey are added to their mothers passport.
So can I apply for their visa on thier mothers passpor? Or should I issue a new passport for them?
Thanks in advance

Each applicant has to have their own passport. The majority of countries no longer issue passports like this anymore for children.

thank you for your prompt replay,
can you please help me in something else?
we are applying together ( my wife and 2 daughters) and i am filling their application on my login page on the UK immigration new website, on ( apply for someone else) section,as a new separate application is this right? or dependents should be applied for differently?
2.will my chances for acceptance be less if we apply at the same time, or do i have a better chance to apply alone at first?
3. if we apply together can i use a priority service alone without them, because i am short on time, and they are to follow me after 1 month after i settle in?
4.i have a class A sponsor, so in maintenance section, who should i put as an answer in their application, me, r the sponsor?
thank you very much in advance;

You and your dependents will only be issued with a vignette in your passport valid for 30 days. You and dependents must travel to the UK within that time and collect BRP cards from nominated Post Office within 10 days of arrival. If family is going to delay their travel, you need to be aware of this.

You need to get passports for your children first anyway.

You need to apply for your children with their OWN passports. I am not sure if you would be able to edit the application.

Please also take note of my point on the 30 day valid visa to enter the UK.

If they are not traveling with you, it makes sense for them to apply after you so that their 30 day visa is valid for when they plan to travel.

You can ask for a post dated visa, but HO/UKVI very often miss this and don't do it then you have to run around trying to get it fixed.

When do YOU plan on applying?

How long will passports take for your children?

i can do the passports in 1 day so they will be ready on Sunday morning;
and i will book an appointment for myself on Tuesday with priority service as i am planning to travel on 24th of December,
i intend for my family to arrive on early February;
so what do you recommend me to do?and in what time frame?
for example, i prefer to fill their application at the same time as mine, but to book their appointment on the end of December or early January. but i don't know if this is OK or not, because i will have to change a few details, like my visa status will be different after my approval?

if your dependents apply separetly, your sponsor will need to give a new letter for their maintenance, or u will need a bank statement showing funds of £630 x number of dependents for at least 90 days.

dear all;
regarding the above, i have my appointment tomorrow, so please i seek your advice;
1. i am doing my interview alone tomorrow, so what documents should i bring with me to the TLS to support my application and to support my dependents future application?
2. as i said in the quote, my family will apply immediately after i get my visa but will book an appointment in early January because of the 30 days role, so what should i do to support their application?, and should i provide a copy of my visa to them? noting that i will apply for them after i get the visa, but the will go to the appointment while i am in the UK.
thanks in advance.
