Daughter is not eligible for naturalisation; she is entitled to register as a citizen.grantcallaway wrote:Hi guys,
My daughter was born in England before my wife and I had ILR. That meant that when we travelled, she had to get a dependancy visa in order to re-enter the UK with us.
Since then, my wife and I have obtained ILR. We did not get ILR for my daughter, since our ILR qualifies her for citizenship/naturalisation.
My question is - if we submit her application for naturalisation, and want to travel abroad in the meantime, will my daughter (3 yrs old) be refused re-entry, since she does not have a valid BRP, even though she is entitled to (and has applied for) naturalisation?
No, not really. She is clearly not a visitor either so wouldn't qualify for that.grantcallaway wrote:Thanks Noajthan - thats what I thought.
Any options available to her that would allow her to travel in about a month? Obviously she can leave without hassle - but being technically South African, would there be any kind of visa that would allow her to return (other than ILR which will take longer than the citizenship registration)?
