No, the passport is the travel document.Apoorva24 wrote:Hello, my baby is 4 months, born here in UK and we need to go back to india. I had started the procedure for his passport but as our passports are submitted at Home Office as we are on FLRO, high commission wants true attested copy of our passports from home office. This process might take 40 days as written at home office website. After that high commission registration will take another 7 days and then when I will apply for passport it will take 3 weeks which will in all take upto 2 n half months minimum. Indeed to go back earlier than that. What is the procedure to take baby without passport? Is there any travel document? Please help.
If no passport then clearly child cannot really prove who s/he is, who her family is and also cannot travel.Apoorva24 wrote:Thanks for your reply. If the decision of our FLRO comes earlier and we have to leave the country and if till then the baby's passport doesn't arrive, what are we going to do?
Child isn't British if parents are waiting for FLR(O). OP is trying to get an Indian passport, which I believe can also be expedited, but I do stand corrected.noajthan wrote:If no passport then clearly child cannot really prove who s/he is, who her family is and also cannot travel.Apoorva24 wrote:Thanks for your reply. As mentioned, you can expedite child's passport with one week service:

And does child not have any other passport?
In this context a bc is not an adequate identity document. It is just a record of an event.Apoorva24 wrote:I know child isn't British. I have birth certificate of child in which our name (parent's name) is clearly mentioned. My query is we want to go back to india and if passport doesn't arrive on time and we have to leave the country soon, can we have any kind of permit to take him along as fast track service is too expensive. Thank you
