ILR 10 year long residence - Am i eligible?

Post by tintin13 » Tue Dec 20, 2016 11:00 am

Hi all
I’m new on here and was wondering if you all will be able to assist me. I am looking to apply for ILR (10 year long residence) in January 2017. My previous and presence visa status are:
2006 – Student entry clearance
2007 – Student visa extension
2008 – Student visa extension (with 2011 expiry date)
2010 – Post study visa (Finished course in 2009)
2012 - 2013 – Tier 2 general (work visa)
2013 – Spousal visa (married to British citizen)
2016 – Spousal visa extended to expire 2018

My questions are:
1. Based on all my combinations of visa/residence status, can I apply under the 10 year route??
2. Will there be any consequence for applying under the 10 year long residence route rather than wait till 2018 to apply based on marriage to British citizen?
3. I am thinking of applying in person, are there any particular documents I should take with me to strengthen my application if necessary?

Your kind advice on this matter will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

1. Yes if you meet all the standard requirements and absence limits.

2. No. Your choice which route you wish to apply.

3. Read the Set(LR) form and guidance notes.
