Child dependent visa-ILR

Post by coolguy_83 » Fri Jan 06, 2017 4:29 pm

Hi,

I have ILR from Tier 2 (5 year rute) from September 2016. My 2 year old son born in UK has tier 2 dependent visa valid until January 2018. His initial leave was granted in UK during Jan 2015.
Can you please clarify my below queries ?

1.I searched similar topic in this forum, it is suggested that the dependent visa is valid to travel outside and enter UK without problem even after main applicant switch to ILR.
Is my understanding right ?

2. After expiry of his visa, which category should I extend again ?

3. When he will be eligible for IlR, my wife will be eligible for ILR only on Jan 2020 ?

Though I can register my son as BC, we are yet to decide on the future plans.
That is the reason I am trying to find alternate options.

Thanks.

His visa is still valid and he can travel out and return to the UK as long as it is before his visa expires.
2. After expiry of his visa, which category should I extend again ?
He needs to apply BEFORE visa expires. PBS dependent extension, same as his mother.
3. When he will be eligible for IlR, my wife will be eligible for ILR only on Jan 2020 ?
When mother qualifies for ILR.

Thanks CR001.

Just to add regarding 2nd question, my wife is in Tier 2 general visa.

Still can I extend in PBS dependent category ?

Does your wife have her own Tier 2 general and not a dependent PBS visa?

Hi CR001,
Is there any issue with mother having her own visa in my sons travel and extension as PBS Dependent in later stage ?
Can you please clarify?
