COS expiring after 2 days of biometric submission

Post by toshit » Wed Nov 30, 2016 8:14 am

Hi,

My certificate of sponsorship is expiring on 21 Dec and my visa appointment for biometrics and application submission is on 19th Dec. Will it cause any issues with my application?

Thanks in advance.

if your appointment date is before the expiry of cos, what is the issue?
what is your question?

Also, if you've applied online ahead of the appointment - isn't that your application date?

COS has validity of 3 months and for me it is getting expired on 21 Dec. I have booked my appointment on 19 Dec for submission of application form and bio metrics.
My question is: if my document reach UKVI office, London after 21 Dec (i.e. after COS expires) will it cause any issue with my application?

I had posted this query in UKVI website and got below reply which worries me:
In regards to your query, You will need to request for a new COS; due to
the expiration will be an issue when the entry clearance officers access
your visa application.

Application form and COS both have 3 months validity. Since I have recently filled application form online so my application form validity is fine but my sponsor had issued COS around 2.5 months back and that is expiring on 21 Dec.
Can it cause issues with my application?

You will be fine. Your appointment is on the 19th which is 2 days before your cos expires. Nothing to worry about. After your appointment on the 19th the Cos will be classed as used. The life cycle is a Cos ends the moment it's used for an application and the application has been considered. The expiry date is only applicable if the Cos is not used within 3 months.
Just relax and go for your appointment on the 19th.

All the best.

Tier 2 G: Mistakes in Form and COS start date

Post by toshit » Sun Dec 04, 2016 5:24 pm

Hi Team,

Need an urgent reply as my appointment is scheduled next week.

In my application form there are some mistakes like:
  • For English language: I have selected 'Degree taught in English' but I couldn't get NARIC result so I have given IELTS.
Planned travel date is past date.
My COS has start date of employment(1st Oct) which is already gone 2 months before.
Can I submit my application by manually correcting answers in application?
Will COS past start date can cause issue?

Really appreciate your help!

COS/Tier 2 G Questions

Post by toshit » Fri Jan 13, 2017 7:26 am

Hi All,

My employer has issued me COS for tier 2 general visa but I cant see work start and end date in COS.
He has shared screenshot from UKVI sponsor management system website and has below details:
CoS number:
Date Assigned:
Expiry Date (use by):
Passport number:
Family Name:
Given Name:
Nationality:¨
Date of Birth:
Gender:

Does 'Expiry date (use by)' mean my 'Work start date' can be on or before expiry date?
Or I need to check with my sponsor for work start date?

Thanks,
Toshi

I checked with my sponsor and work start date is different from use by date.

COS has different country address than VISA application

Post by toshit » Fri Jan 13, 2017 2:42 pm

Hi All,

My sponsor issued me COS when I was in Sweden but now I have moved to India and want to apply for visa.
Will it cause any issue with my application if I give my India address in visa application?

Thanks in advance. Highly appreciate prompt response!

Thanks,
Toshi
