Hi,
My husband is getting Tier 2 ICT short term Visa to UK. My client for whom I am working currently wants to hire me, they are open to provide me job on dependent visa or sponsorship. Our preference is sponsor ship as that will give me Tier 2 general Long Term visa. But for same formalities will take some time around one or two month. As per our present situation we have two options:
1) Go on Tier 2 ICT short term dependent Visa now and apply for Tier 2 general Visa afterwards
> Is it possible to do so (as per our finding, it should be possible, we are a bit concerned and confused due to new rules coming in)
> Any restrictions if my employer offer me job on Tier 2 ICT dependent initially and then want to provide me sponsorship
> Can I apply for Visa change within UK or do I need to come back to home country
> Travelling with 2.5 year old daughter for whom I would like to be my dependent after I convert my Visa, will there be any issue if my husband is on different visa type and I am on different
> If at some point my husband want to change his Visa type to be my dependent,
will is be possible
do he need to go back to home country and apply or he can change it within UK
2) My husband go on Tier 2 ICT short term Visa and I wait for my sponsorship. Once I receive same apply for Tier 2 Long Term Visa for myself and dependent Visa for our daughter
Only concern here is that it will take some time around two months for confirmation and then one month for visa which we don't want to spend like this until plan 1 will not work
Regards,
Sujata

> Any restrictions if my employer offer me job on Tier 2 ICT dependent initially and then want to provide me sponsorship Employer will have to prove you have not been 'pre selected' for the job. This is why RLMT is so important.

2) My husband go on Tier 2 ICT short term Visa and I wait for my sponsorship. Once I receive same apply for Tier 2 Long Term Visa for myself and dependent Visa for our daughter It is not a 'long term' visa. It is only called Tier 2 General. You can apply for any visa you qualify for. There is no rule that you must be on the same visa as your spouse.

No cool off for dependent visa holder. But you will need to apply Tier 2 General from home country
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.
