staying for more than one year after receiving ILR

Post by SetO guy » Thu Jan 19, 2017 8:32 pm

Dear Senior members,

I got my Ilr last year. Recently I got a job offer from overseas. The employment is for 2 years

Can I stay outside the country for 2 years and come back when the employment contract finished.

Please could someone shed some light or direct me to the policy guidelines.

ILR is lost if you are absent for 2 or more years. Short visits are unlikely to maintain ILR status.

Such an long absence will also affect your eligibility to apply for citizenship.
