ILR from Tier 2 General

Hi guys

A friend of mine has Tier 2 sponsored and ready to apply for 3 year visa. He is keen to come to the UK if this route can take him to ILR and British citizenship. Would he be able to apply ILR after 5 years of stay in the UK? (I heard ILR was going to be closed for all PBS categories, is it true?)

My friend is also waiting for Australian immigration but he is keen to come to the UK and settle here.

Depends on which category of Tier 2 he is applying for (Tier 2 General or Tier 2 ICT).

Rubbish. Don't believe everything you 'hear'. At present, it is only Tier 1 General main visa holders that won't be able get ILR after April 2018.
