Graduate Entrepreneur to Tier 1 Entrepreneur

Hello All,

My friend has just received the Graduate Entrepreneur visa. Very Excited

I want to check how long does he have have to wait before he applies for the Tier 1 Entrepreneur. He has managed to secure the required £50,000 funds for the tier 1 entrepreneur and plus a very strong business case. Would be helpful if he gets the right guidance.

We have read the guide thoroughly over and over again. While the guide has details specifics and scenarios for the funding requirement, no where it states how long does one have to be on a tier 1 Graduate entrepreneur visa before switching to the Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa.

Any advise will be helpful

There is nothing to prevent switching as long as you qualify

No where in the guidance of Tier 1 entrepreneur is mentioned about being on Graduate Entrepreneur visa for 2 years or for the business to be successful. What happens if my business is successful in the first 3 or 6 months, do I still need to wait for 2 years? And the definition of success is not clear in any guidance... For example for Tier 1 entrepreneur its clear that one needs to have two full time employee for an extension, there needs to be similar guidance to define business success for Graduate Entrepreneur visa.

Can anyone who has knowledge or similar experience please can you share your thoughts.

The qualification criteria to switch as required in the guide is considered evidence of 'success' . If you qualify to switch, you are considered successful

So it means if he has started business during his graduate entrepreneur leave, has £50,000 investment fund and meets all the other conditions of the Tier 1 Investor visa, he can pretty much apply anytime.
