ILR salary threshold query

Post by scher » Sun Jan 29, 2017 7:25 am

Hi All,
I cuurently I am on tier 2 general visa from Jan 2017 to Jan 2020 and I will be eligible for ILR as i will be finishing 5 years on tier 2 by Jan 2019.
Currently i am earning 30000 by working for company A and Can I work for company B for 20 hours as a supplementary work. Then Can I sum up salaries from company A and company B in order to be eligible for ILR based on salary threshold of 35,000..
Thanks and Regards,
scher.

Hi, as far as I know the salary thresold is only from your main job, you can not combine two jobs to get to 35000, what you can do maximum is work more hours in first job which is your main job and see if your employer is ready to make contract of 45 hours increasing salary level of 35,000, second option is you can change employement before your end of stay to a job which pays you minimum thresold level.
its just my opinion. many thanks

Hi asjakkas2,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions,
As per your second suggestion,Do I need to go through/satisfy RLMT if i change my job before end of stay ..is it ok just to have job offer letter from a company which pays the minimum threshold level salary while applying for ILR?? or I should be working and should submit payslips from the company for ILR application...
Thanks and Regards,
scher

Hi Mancy,
Good Morning,Thanks a lot for sharing the valuable information..
I will also be eligible for ILR on sep2019 based on 10 years route as I came to uk on sep 2009.But I was on student visa until from 2009 to 2012,during this 3 years period I had worked more than 20 hours even in term time.Apart from that i never had any gaps while switching visas or any other issues in my 10 years time..is this is going to be a problem if i apply for ilr based on 10 years route...
Thanks and Regards,
Scher.

Yes it will be a problem, you were in breach of your visa conditions. It will also be a problem if your ultimate aim is to apply for BC, with a more stringent good character requirement.
