BRP (NTL) application

Post by fraserello » Tue Jan 31, 2017 4:22 pm

Hi
My partner is Australian and has Indefinite Leave to Remain in an expired passport so we're about to apply for her to get the BRP (NTL).
The issue is that she may need to travel outside of the UK in 3/4 months, and the only guidelines I can get from the HO is that she'll be without her documents for 6 months.
Does anyone know if this is a 'worst case scenario' timeline, or is it actually realistic that they need to keep both expired & current passports for that long?

Any help appreciated!
Thanks

Apply in person at a Premium Service Centre. Costs more but worth it.
