Tier 2 PBS Dependant 10 year ILR Route

Post by red poltergeist » Thu Feb 02, 2017 12:23 pm

Hello,

I have recently switched to PBS dependant and in a couple of month's I will be completing 10 years continuous stay in the UK. Please, can you help me if I can apply for ILR and what visa should I should be applying or do I have to wait for until my partner gets ILR.

I have heard rumors that they are removing the PR or Citizenship etc. Would be really grateful if you can clarify my doubts.

1) I am completing my 10 years route and my main applicant is on Tier 2 with 5 years visa.
2) also after I get my ILR how long does my main applicant will qualify for ILR. (is it a good idea to make my main applicant as my dependant after I get my ILR?)

You can apply for long residence ILR if you meet all the requirements.

After 5 years on Tier 2 G and meeting all the requirements. So when your partner qualifies depends on how long they have already been in the UK. Switching to FLR(M) - or ILR dependent as members keep calling it incorrectly - will reset your partners clock to zero and partner will be on a new 5 year route (2 x 2.5 year visas) before they qualify for ILR.

There is no 'quick' route for partner simply because you get ILR.
