Guidance needed - UK visa for my mother

Post by ififthelement » Sat Feb 04, 2017 7:56 pm

Hi,

I am currently on a WP in UK, around 1 yr now. Mom is planning to visit in Apr-2017.
1) Should be purchase the to-fro tickets prior to applying for visa ?
2) We will apply for visa in Mar-2017.

In the meantime I will send the necessary documentation from my side and Mom will have enough time to gather paper work in India.

1. UKVI advise applicants NOT to purchase tickets till their visas are granted. A return ticket will have no influence on the outcome of the application.

Ok. but in that case the tickets will be costly if we book as soon as we get the visa granted :roll:

Even more costly if you book non-refundable flights and the visa isn't granted. :idea:
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

The visa is not even guaranteed.

UKVI is not interested in tickets/prices.

If not risk-averse at least get refundable tickets;
(and that's why having tickets proves nothing).
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.
