SMS from passport office JCAP

Post by n8net » Fri Feb 10, 2017 12:35 pm

Hi

I recently made a JCAP application and got an SMS today from Passport office that my passport will come within 6 weeks.

is it just thee standard text and a normal behavior ? and going by some timelines in this forum 6 weeks
is not very realistic ?

anyone got passport after a JCAP application within 6 weeks as per the text ?

thanks

It is a standard text that HMPO sends out. You will only get your passport after your BC approval and once you have attended the ceremony.

ya..thanks.. I get it from this forum, but why would HMPO say it will take 6 weeks, but going by the timelines, it is almost 6 months ?!

is there anyone who got passport via JCAP within 6 weeks ? what is the shortest time lapse ever recorded ?

also why would HO send application to HMPO before approving the naturailsation anyway ? bit pointless if they reject the naturalisation..?

6 months if for citizenship approval NOT passport which is a completely different department. A passport application (those not using JCAP) takes 4-6 weeks and NOT 6 months. HMPO will hold your application until notified you have attended your ceremony.

It is a standard, automated text message that all applicants get.

A week or just over a week AFTER the ceremony.

How long an application takes varies, as you have already been advised numerous times. IF approved, when you can attend the ceremony depends on availability of your council.

It is a big possibility that you will not have your passport, as already advised, by the time you need to travel to Switzerland. Suggest plan accordingly for a visa.
