schengen visa - travel insurance

Post by krssubbu » Tue Feb 14, 2017 2:35 pm

Hi,

I am applying for minor visa for my child with Austria Emabassy for Tourist Schengen Visa. I already hold a shengen visa and will be travelling with her

Can I show Family Travel Insurance covering her ? is this acceptable ? Also is standard cover enough As the website says "Travel insurance (only issued in UK) valid for all Schengen countries ,covering the intended period of stay with an all-risk (including winter sports) medical travel insurance policy for a minimum coverage of € 30,000 for emergency medical and repatriation expenses"

What does all-risk mean?

Thanks

Yes, what you have is sufficient.

Thanks CR001

just to be clear, standard risk is ok which includes "all risk" and family insurance is enough right?

I called up the helpline and they knew nothing and just read what was listed off the website - so confirming again

Thanks

one more thing, what is meant by?

1. Additional documents required for Minors: Children under 18 years of age must also provide:

Notarized letter of authority of parents of underage children, who travel unaccompanied by their parents.

what is meant by notarized ? i guess it wont be applicable to me because I am travelling with her right?

2. Also, I am taking my child with me, is a join concent letter from me and my wife enough to say that its ok to travel with me or is it ONLY needed from my wife?

You don't need that as you are traveling as a family. Write a covering letter with a brief explanation and provide a copy of your Schengen visa.
