Standard Visit Visa for parents

Post by prat_123 » Wed Feb 15, 2017 9:48 am

Hello Friends,

I am about to apply for Standard Visit Visa for my mother who lives in India.
I have the following queries, much appreciated if someone can guide me here.

1. I will be sponsoring my mother's travel and accommodation in UK. She will be staying here for 3-4 months. How much money do i need to show in my account and for what length of time ?

2. Can i show my savings account bank statements or do i need to show my current account statements just to reflect the salary coming in as per pay slip ?

3. Although i am sponsoring, still does my mother needs to show some accessible money in her India account too? Unfortunately she doesn't have enough money in her bank accounts but she can show Fixed deposits on her name. Are fixed deposits allowed for Visit visa application ? Will she also need a letter form the bank mentioning that the money available in Fixed deposit is readily available ?

Much appreciated if someone can help me on the above queries.

Thanks.

1. Will you be stating in the form that she will be visiting for 3-4 months?

2. Any account can be used and there is no minimum period etc to prove.

3. What evidence will your mother provide to show her ties to India and her personal and financial circumstances? You sponsoring the entire visit unfortunately is not enough. She has to prove she has reason to leave the UK after her visit.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for elderly parents to get visit visas to the UK. Search the forum and read the many refusals posted.

Thanks for your prompt response.

1. Will you be stating in the form that she will be visiting for 3-4 months?
- Yes i will state that she will stay for 3-4 months maximum[/color].

2. Any account can be used and there is no minimum period etc to prove.
- Thanks. Can i show both my savings and current account? Savings will show the fund available whereas current account will show the monthly salary that i get.

3. What evidence will your mother provide to show her ties to India and her personal and financial circumstances? You sponsoring the entire visit unfortunately is not enough. She has to prove she has reason to leave the UK after her visit.
She takes care of her parents too. She has a house to take care of. It is still on my father's name although he passed away few years back. Will it cause problems if she shows the property details where she lives although the property is still on my father's name ?
She travels very frequently with her religious guru in India. I can provide some more evidences.

Could you please respond to the above ?
Thanks a lot.

1. 3 to 4 months r too much for visit someone (even the son) as ECO point of view. 4 to 6 weeks r reasonable.

2. ECO's r more interested to see your mother financial circumstances in INDIA. Even though u r sponsoring the whole trip still they want to see her economic ties and circumstances in INDIA.

3. U need to explain all the ties and social circumstances with evidences to convince the ECO that she will go back after her visit.

Thanks for letting me know about this

She doesn't have enough money in her Bank accounts but she has good amount of money in fixed deposits in an indian bank which can easily cover her trip cost. She can also get a letter signed by the manager that the money is readily available. Will this work? We will also provide property paper on my father's name.

3. U need to explain all the ties and social circumstances with evidences to convince the ECO that she will go back after her visit.
How do we prove the social relations ? Does she need to get signed letters from relatives that they are very close to each other or something like that, supported by identity proofs? She will be undergoing a leg operation in India probably around Sept, can a letter from the hospital confirming that help? This is really challenging how to prove strong social relations in India. Is there any template for this?

Could you please help ?
Thanks again for your prompt response.

2.What is your mother source of income? They r more interested to see transactions in her bank account. What's coming in and going out? Like pension, rental income, any business generating income, other income giving by family and friends. if money giving by family and friends than also provide those family members source of income as evidences.

Do u have brothers and sisters in India? if yes what r they doing? if in school or college get the letters from them. if they r working than get wageslips and employer letters to confirm their economic activities. Family photos can also help.
Do not mention any treatment. Eco might think that she is coming here for free NHS.

These days they r very strict about visit visas. So its your duty to convince ECO that your mom is a genuine visitor and she has more ties in her home country which would attract her to leave the UK at the end of her visit.

Could you please help ?

My mother donot have any substantial source of income. She gets a very minimal monthly pension of probably 50£, her main cost of living in india is undertaken by myself. I transfer money to my Indian account and she uses it from there. Do i need to show bank statement of my indian account along with her Fixed deposits ? Or does she need to transfer the money that i transfer to my indian account to her bank account ?

No my sister lives in the US. But we can provide family photos to show she is very close to her siblings. Will that work? Thanks for letting me know about the NHS issue, i wont mention it. She can show medical reports of her parents i.e my grand father and grand mother just to show they are not keeping well, so needs to go back to india after her visit. I can write a cover letter where all these things would be mentioned. Will this work?

Thanks for your support.

2. Yes. But it could also go against u that she is financially dependent on u.

3. Yes

End of the day its all about luck and on ECO that whether he/she is convinced or not that she will go back.

Hello Friends,

My mother is filling up the form for her visit to UK.
I am sponsoring her for her visit.

There are two questions in the online application where we would need a bot of help. They are as follows :-

Under Income/Expenditure

1. How much money are you planning to spend on your visit to the UK?

2. How much money will they be paying towards your visit? ( i am sponsoring her)

Thanks.

It is not necessary to start a new topic with the same question you have already asked. When someone is available and willing to respond, I am sure they will.

These are questions that only you/mother would know.

Sure, no problem.

Regarding the second question is there a minimum that we need to mention, for eg. "x" amount per day or per month?

Please could you help ?

Thanks

How much money u have in your bank account?

How much money your mother has in her bank account?

Be realistic. don't try to impress ECO by showing large amount of trip expense. They will not. trust me. But further doubt your credibility specially when your mom has not the required amount (trip expense ) in her personal bank account. Even though u r sponsoring the full trip but they r more keen to see your mother financial circumstances in her home country.

For how many days your mother wants to come to the UK.

R u taking any benefits?

I reckon 1000 to 1500 is bit higher amount. but it also depends for how long your mother will stay.

i can show around 10k in my account.

She has probably equivalent to £750 in her bank account. She has around £2000 cash in a fixed deposit which is readily accessible. She can get a letter from the bank that this cash is readily accessible.

She is planning to stay here for 8 weeks.

No i don't take any benefits.

Will the money that i have stated above help the cause or would you like to make changes there ?

Thanks

Hi Prat

Hope your mom got the visa.

I am inviting my dad on UK visitor visa and can see you were also trying for your mum and grateful if you can clarify the following:

1.Is it possible to apply UK visitor visa from within UK for Indian parents based outside UK? if so, is there any website link you can provide please.

2. Will there be any impact or question of leaving my mom alone in India? she is not keen to visit UK as she feels more isolated due to weather etc

Advance thanks.
