If the father is uncooperative, how will you prove that he is a British citizen? You will need proof of that, in addition to the DNA proof.Tanya0044 wrote:His father has refused to sign the passport form to get my son a passport can I still apply for it and use the DNA test to prove that he is eligible?
It is your responsibility to submit the documents. HMPO will not dig around looking for them for you. Apply for a copy of fathers birth certificate.Tanya0044 wrote:Surely if they search for him they will know he is British I have his date of birth?
I could be wrong, but there is, to the best of my knowledge, no central database of British citizens. So, the Home office can't just search for it.Tanya0044 wrote:Surely if they search for him they will know he is British I have his date of birth?
Depending on where the father was born, contact GRO for a copy of the father's birth certificate if he was born in England or Wales, the National Records of Scotland, or GRO Northern Ireland.CR001 wrote:Apply for a copy of fathers birth certificate.
Yes. You can register your child as a British citizen using Form MN1 under Section 1(3). But that will cost £936.Tanya0044 wrote:does the fact that I'm now British help in anyway?
