Switching from Marriage Visitor to Spouse Visa

Post by HKamel » Sun Feb 19, 2017 9:00 pm

Hi,

I am a British Citizen and my Fiance lives abroad, we plan to get married later this year in September however she is coming to the UK before that in April. I want to know if she arrives on Marriage Visitor and we do a civil marriage at the register and then she flys out. Can she apply for a spouse visa from abroad so that she settles in the UK after the wedding.

The purpose of doing this is to avoid her having to stay behind and go through the Visa process after the wedding as I would like her to be come back and stay in the UK.

Also probably the Marriage visitor visa will probably be valid when she applies for the spouse, will that be a problem.

Will that scenario be possible.

Many Thanks,
HKamil

Why not apply for the fiance visa, get married and then switch within the UK to the spouse visa?

A marriage visit visa is just that, a visit visa. No relation to or impact on a spouse visa.
