Tier2 Dependent Visa extension;Husband now on ILR

Post by arts99 » Mon Feb 20, 2017 11:04 am

Hi,

I will really appreciate if someone can share their experience or guide with regards to the amount of leave granted and IHS fee that had to be paid for cases where the Tier 2 dependants were short of residential requirement by an year or sometimes less and their main sponsor already has acquired ILR status and they required one more extension as Tier 2 dependants.

For example migrant on Tier 2 acquired ILR under 5 years rule in Oct 2016 and the dependants had joined him/her in Jan 2013. They already would had one extension in Oct 2014 valid till Oct 2017, they will be completing the residence requirement for ILR in Jan 2018. So they actually need the extension visa for 3 months or so. However the IHS cost calculation system only seems to cater for less than or more than 3 years Tier 2 dependants visas and upon selection of less than 3 years automatically states £600 as the fee. If someone has 3 dependants then they will be paying £1200 more than they shall be as they will get the ILR within the first year of the extension/IHS payment. So how to avoid that extra payment please?

Thank you

A dependent PBS application made after the main visa holder got ILR through PBS route, will be a 3 year extension. There is no shorter extension available in this case. The £600 per applicant will need to be paid. A refund can be requested once ILR is granted, but it could take a while.
