Clarification - Qualifying Period

Hi

Thank you in advance for clarifying this.

I'm a British Citizen and my wife applied for Spouse visa. Her visa started on 1st April 2014 but she wasn't able to come to the UK till 12th July 2014.

In December 2016 we made an application for further leave to remain which was granted and now her visa will expire in August 2019.

I wanted to know if her qualifying 5 year period starts on 1st April 2014 or 12th July 2014 - I've tried the government documents but still remain confused.

It is counted from date of entry, 12th July 2014.
