A UK born child can register as British under section 1(3) of the nationality act once you are granted ILR. The child does not need ILR or an extension as it is an entitlement to register as British.

You should apply for YOUR extension and your spouse and then vary your application to ILR long residence and your wife to FLR(M), meeting all the requirements.

Not for citizenship by an entitlement to register. There is no absence limit.
