I am planning to apply for an ancestry visa. I would like to pick up the BRP within 10 days of my arrival in the UK and then immediately go traveling in Europe for 2 or 3 months, then return to the UK to find a job. Does anyone think I might be given trouble at the airport when trying to re-enter the UK, because I left immediately after picking up the BRP?
Also, I am thinking ahead to the application for ILR. Over the 5-year period of the visa, in addition to the above-mentioned travel in Europe, I might possibly spend two separate 2-month periods visiting my family in my home country. I am definitely not planning to spend more than 180 days outside of the UK in any one of the five years. It is likely that I would quit my job before visiting my family for a 2-month period, and then immediately look for a new job upon my return to the UK. For "evidence supporting reason for absences from UK," do you think it would be sufficient for me to write a brief letter stating that I was visiting family? The only family I have is my parents and one sibling, and my parents are old. Has anyone been granted ILR with these types/lengths of absences? If necessary, I would be willing to pay for an extension of the ancestry visa after the five years in order to make up the time for the absences, but I don't know if this "evidence supporting reasons for absences" would still be an issue.
Thank you, I will greatly appreciate any comments.
