Nationalisation - Council Tax and Employment history questio

Post by BeforeMidnight » Tue Feb 28, 2017 1:15 pm

Hi All,

I am about to submit my application for nationalisation AN form (I have ILR from 10 years residence 2 years ago). I have a couple of questions, hope somebody could give me some answers for the peace of mind:

1. Fee: Is this £1236? Do I need to add £25 for biometric as I already had my biometric taken for the ILR card in May 2015.

2. Referee: Can my line manager (his title is General Manager) be the professional referee? Will he be qualified as "Director/Manager/Personnel Officer of a VAT registered Company" as quoted in Annex A of Chapter 6. He does not have any professional certificate or belongs to a professional body.

3. Council Tax: 7 years ago, I sublet a room in a one bedroom flat. The guy who was on the contract stayed in the living room. However, he was the only one named in the contract and in the council tax (hence he had a one person discount for 1.5 years I stayed there). Will this be a problem for my application if they couldn't see my name on the council tax history?

4. 10 years employment history from HMRC: I have actually requested my 10 years employment history with them a few times, through various links quoted in other threads. However, they only sent me the employment in the past 5 years, and the NI amount paid over the last 10 years. No details, dates of employers, especially for the period when I was working part time as a student. Should I just submit my application now with what I remember and send through the details if HMRC ever comes back to me with any more information?

For others that might be interested, I used the following link to request it:
SAR: https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/shortforms/form/DPU_SAR_NI/
NI Contribution: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ry-request
It's also good idea to check your tax from HMRC website - more or less instantly https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/gg/sign- ... e=/account

Many thanks for anyone that read this far. Fingers crossed for the last step of this journey!

2. Referee: Can my line manager (his title is General Manager) be the professional referee? Will he be qualified as "Director/Manager/Personnel Officer of a VAT registered Company" as quoted in Annex A of Chapter 6. He does not have any professional certificate or belongs to a professional body. Should be fine

4. 10 years employment history from HMRC: I have actually requested my 10 years employment history with them a few times, through various links quoted in other threads. Write as much as you can remember but be as accurate as possible.

It's called naturalisation, not nationalisation :)
