Decision Email for Fiancee/Fiance Visa

Just a quick question for those of you who successfully received a fiancee/fiance visa (Apply to Join a Family Member in the UK)---

After the application process and the appropriate waiting period, was there any indication in the email you received (notifying you that a decision was made regarding your visa) that allowed you to see if your visa was successful or not? From what I understand, the email has a generic heading such as "A decision has been made regarding your visa" and you don't know the final outcome until you collect the materials/receive it by post.
