I am trying to avoid new fees. Another thing is, it will be a new financial year and I have to deal with my taxes as I am "self employed", so it will delay everything even more I think.CR001 wrote:Why not just apply in the beginning of April.
Do you think I can include some sort of letter asking them to consider my application based on 5 years? Will I be eligible if I had my PR card only since January?CR001 wrote:You can apply on the basis of 5 years, but HO might process it on the basis of 3 years.
I meant Permanent Residence card, which used to be called ILR I think.CR001 wrote:When you say PR, do you mean ILR???
Looks like the fees are going up on 18th of March.CR001 wrote:There has been no indication as yet of when/if fees are going up.
Yes, I think they would want me to hold it for 12 months if it's based on 5 years route, so I'm not sure if it will work out well for me.CR001 wrote: My understanding is that if you apply on the basis of 5 years residence, you need to hold ILR for 12 months.
It is only the spouse of BC route that does not require that.
I came back on 05/04/2014CR001 wrote:On what date, 3 years ago, in April did you arrive back in the UK?
www.serge wrote:I meant Permanent Residence card, which used to be called ILR I think. No, you are mistaken. PR is for those on the EEA/EU route. ILR is for those on the UK immigration route, i.e a spouse visa, work permit etc.CR001 wrote:When you say PR, do you mean ILR???
Looks like the fees are going up on 18th of March. This is from last year. There has been no announcement on fees yet for this year.CR001 wrote:There has been no indication as yet of when/if fees are going up.

I came back on 05/04/2014 If you arrived back in the UK on this date 3 years ago, then this is the date you can apply. Fees usually go up on 6th April (except last year). If you apply through NCS at the council on 5th April, then that is your application date and the current fees should be relevant.CR001 wrote:On what date, 3 years ago, in April did you arrive back in the UK?
What do you think would be my options?
Best regards,

Great, thank you so much, will do that!CR001 wrote:Date of application by HO is the date of receipt +1 day.
I strongly suggest you apply using NCS
