Updating details in already given UK residence card

Post by Asha123 » Sun Mar 05, 2017 9:50 am

Hi,

I received my UK residence card on April 2016 as I am the partner of EU member. I am marrying this year and for processing civil ceremony, I need a surname and my passport don't have surname so I changed given name in first name and surname. Its like spilt given name on the passport to first name and surname. When I did the procedure for UK residence card I had only given name and now passport changed with given name and surname. My query is how to inform home office UK about this change and what I need to do.Do I need replacement UK residence card, if so I read it takes 6 months and more and I don't have time as my wedding is in abroad and I am away till two months. I also read about transfer visa but does it apply for UK residence card. It's possible to carry the old passport when travel and change this later after the wedding. If I do later it cause me trouble. Hope to listen from you all.
Thanks

When you say EU partner, is it a British Citizen or an EU country citizen?

There is a difference in regards to visas/residence cards.
Char (CR001 not Casa)
