EEA national applying under long residence route

Post by yagulnaz » Tue Mar 07, 2017 10:24 am

Hello all,

I'm curious to see if anyone has applied under 10 year residence rule as an EEA national. My husband did not have CSI as a student which is very unfortunate. I wonder if - in spite of this - he could apply under 10 year rule.

The period as a student without CSI will break the 10 year residence.

Any chance he was employed throughout his time as a student and paying tax/NI (within the permitted hours). :?:

He was, but probably not throughout. I will check. His EEA PR application is not going to be easy (was refused once due to lack of student CSI) as he was fully employed, then self-employed, then fully employed, then self-sufficient, then fully employed again.

CSI = Comprehensive Sickness Insurance. Required by an EU citizen who is studying or self sufficient.
