BRP for spouse transferring to Tier 2

Post by tip » Tue Mar 07, 2017 7:49 pm

Hi, hoping someone can assist.

I was sponsored by my organisation back in August. My husband has applied to jump on my sponsorship visa from his current Youth Mobility Visa which expires later this month.

On the application form he mentioned my BRP number but I think he has also ticked a box saying he has a BRP (why would that option exist when the whole purpose of applying for this visa is to receive his own BRP, I don't understand) but we're now not sure if we'll have to re-apply and re-pay, because he does not have a BRP for Tier 2.

The checklist says he needs to send in his BRP amongst the other documents (he has his current youth mobility visa but obviously not the Tier 2 BRP). Unless they mean his current Youth Mobility visa.

Any advice, please? Thanks.

Not sure what your question is. If he is applying to switch, he pays the visa fee and if applying by post, pays the Post Office to enroll his biometrics. We don't have access to the Tier 2 General dependent form as it is online only. What is the question where he put your BRP details in?

The checklist says he needs to send in his BRP amongst the other documents (he has his current youth mobility visa but obviously not the Tier 2 BRP). Unless they mean his current Youth Mobility visa. That is what they mean.

Any advice, please? Thanks.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Yes, he's applied online, paid the fee (£640.00...or something similar) plus the NHS fee. However, we were wondering, when they ask him on the form whether he has a BRP, do they mean his current Youth Mobility Visa BRP, as that is what he has put down.

Sorry, can we also check - there's information on the govt website that says he can continue working past his visa expiry date so long as his application is being considered - does this stand?

Thanks a lot again :)

Thanks a lot again :)
