I want to apply for the resident card

Hello everyone I hope you doing well , I joined my wife in month one by having an EEA family permit and I'm still looking for a job my EEA family permit will end by month 6 but I want to apply for the EEA Resident card , what should I have and what advice you can give me ?
And in my case , if I want to travel with my wife to Europe as a holder of an EEA resident card in uk will I be allowed to travel with her or I will need a Schengen Visa.
Also I have a question about the benefits , Im 20 and my wife is 19 and she is a student and I'm looking for a job but till the moment I didn't find , what benefits can I claim ?

yes she is the EU citizen and she is a student she was living here in the uk for more than 5 years
