immquestions wrote: If using NCS, then original passports and BRP can be kept right?
Yes
But what does the NCS staff help with exactly besides certifying copies of the IDs? I read that they cannot state whether the submitted documents are missing anything.
They will check whether you got everything required and scan through your application form. Clearly if anything is missing they will tell you. They do not work for UKVI.
And when an appointment with NCS takes place, is that the day of application?
Yes
Or do they return the documents and it's up to the applicant to submit them?
No - they will submit to UKVI

I forgot to mentioned the LIUK exam and English degree in the list of docs.of course - important!
But anything other than that needs to be submitted, especially in relation to the original immigration route?
Only submit what's required by the AN application, which is not visa, you are not proving ILR again.
And if you don't mind me asking, how was the NCS experience? It was so good I had two appointments - seriously, they picked up on me having the wrong English document, so had to make another appointment, still cheaper than loosing the fee.
How does the appointment go? What docs did you submit? And how long did it take for your application to be decided? As above, went well, same as your docs apart from PR in my case and employer letter rather than P60 (10 years with same). Application took two months plus 1 month wait for ceremony.
And if the local council doesn't have appointments in the near future, can one pick any other council? Would that be frowned upon?Any council can be picked, no effect on application (NCS is run by councils, not HO).

When it comes to the referees, do we have to include copies of their passports? No
or would the details on the form be enough? Yes
And can both referees be people who worked with us in the same company? Yes, but must not be related to you or to each other

A couple more questions if I may:
- If using NCS, would the original BRP also stay with me, or is it just the original passport? You keep ALL originals, except LIUK letter.
- I was reading the JCAP rules and it states that section 10 in the passport application does not need to be filled (the section that asks for counter signatories).
However, it then states "The referees of the nationality application form and the passport application form are required to be the same person in line with referee guidelines."
So do referees only fill in their details on the AN form, or they need to fill the passport too? The quoted point states they need to be the same, but they are not actually filling in the passport form. What do you take of that?
- Do I need to provide P60s for all years or just last 3 since I'm married to a BC?
- This year's P60 won't be with me until May or June. So shall I provide 2 years of P60 and 11 month of payslips?
- Do I need to provide a letter from the employer? No
- Do I need to include copies of utility bills spread across last 3 years? No
No, they send it themselves, no need to take on with you as you will have all your original documents. Pre paid special delivery envelope is if you apply by post yourself and want your original documents returned safely.immquestions wrote:By the way, CR001, when attending NCS, do we need to bring a prepaid special delivery envelope? Or do they post the application themselves and provide the royal mail tracking number?
Which doesn't really make sense. Many former employers simply do not issue a letter of employment, because they don't care. And they have absolutely no obligation to do so.CR001 wrote:Many members have reported that NCS are not taking P60s anyway and have had no issue.
The requirements for those on ILR are marginally different to those on the EEA/EU path. EU citizens are asked to prove residency with documents. Those on ILR only require their passports which are stamped. The P60 issue is to show proof of paying NI/tax, so not sure in what context you are commenting in this topic.salmintin wrote:Which doesn't really make sense. Which leaves you with the very few options, one of them being P60.
